B.A.D PRESENTS..

We’re really excited to announce our event series, B.A.D. Presents…, which finally sees us venture from the online space to the physical world. B.A.D. Presents… will be a celebration of Black culture, bringing our wonderful community to finally take part in the shared experience of dance, sound, and togetherness, featuring and celebrating the finest Black DJs and artists.

Our first celebration will take place at The Colour Factory, a new Black owned venue in London’s Hackney Wick, on Friday 1st October 2021. Much like us, The Colour Factory got started during the pandemic, and much like us, they love and celebrate Black culture in the musical realm. We’re super excited to create an experience with a team with which we share a lot of values, and we’re sure they’re just as excited as we are to welcome you to their abode.

B.A.D. is a platform that draws inspiration from both our pioneers, and those at the cutting edge of the scene we love - so what better person to visualise our first events than a man who represents both? Junior Tomlin, described as the ‘Salvador Dali of Rave’, is putting his visionary pen to paper to draw up the artwork for our first shindig. One of the most recognisable and inspirational artists in the UK, his body of work spans 3 decades, adorning record sleeves, flyers, bedroom walls and collections of many a raver. In that time Junior has always gazed forward thematically, with his works combining sci-fi, surrealism and traditional African colour, to produce singularly unique work; work that truly can be described as Afro-futurist.

The community will hopefully have a chance to keep this artwork on their walls and in their collections - more details on this to follow. What is a party without some music? Setting the scene will be a hand-picked selection of Black music’s best selectors, given full freedom to express their creativity through the medium of sound.

We can’t play all our cards yet however - look out for the lineups for each party on our website, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, as well as the event page here on RA. To ensure you don’t miss out, make sure you pre-register for tickets - and for exclusive access and discounts, head to our Patreon.

We are also holding back a decent number of tickets for our community members at a heavy discount, for those that need them most.

Feel free to get at kay@blackartistdatabase.co for more details on these.

See you in the dance!
